About Dan Lufkin

Dan Wende Lufkin graduated from Yale University and then, in 1957, was awarded the Master in Business Administration diploma by the Harvard Business School.

D.W.Lufkin’s career in finance spans over more than 50 years and makes him a Wall Street legend. The Wall Street Journal publication included him among the 100 greatest entrepreneurs of the twentieth century, while John Byrne (Business Week, Forbes), in his recent publication “25 Entrepreneurs Who Changed Business As We Knew It”, nominates him among the 25 who did that, as being the only representative of the financial field (in his capacity of founder of the Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette investment bank) – next to Bill Gates (Microsoft), Steve Jobs (Apple), Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) etc.

Besides his reputation of a top professional, DLJ has had the reputation of being a true “seedbed” of talents – a place where extraordinary employees found the appropriate mentors so that they could reach their true potential.

During 1969 and 1971, D.W. Lufkin was one of the youngest governors of the New York Stock Exchange.

Besides his financial career, D.W. Lufkin was also dedicated to environment protection. As such, D.W. Lufkin worked for many years as a public servant in the environment protection field (where he participated to the drawing up of the legislation of the state of Connecticut in this field). During this period, D.W. Lufkin was one of the founders of the “Days of the Earth”.

Currently, D.W. Lufkin is a member of the Boards of numerous companies and non-profit entities from the United States.
