Conferinta1

The Romanian Banking Institute (RBI) in a partnership with the National School for Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA) and the Lufkin Foundation for Entrepreneurship and Migration (FLAME) organized the conference ‘The Romanian Diaspora and Romania: A long-term investment’, on 12 June, an event during which we launched the FLAME Foundation, by applying it to the current and future Romanian context.

The guest of honour of this event was Mr Dan W. Lufkin, founder of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, one of the Wall Street legends acknowledged by the Wall Street Journal as one of the greatest 100 entrepreneurs of the twentieth century.

The event debated upon the problems pertaining to the Romanian migration phenomenon as regards its economic impact (remittances, contribution to the national economy, investments), as well as upon its social impact, while attempting to identify long-term, sustainable solutions.
